Jam to your website’s tune[codeorgan.com]
Almost everyone of us loves music; who doesn’t? Well what about hearing the tune of your website? The guys from DLKW invented a way to do just that. They dubbed it CodeOrgan. The CodeOrgan works by analyzing the <body> (HTML code) content of your website and translate that code into music via a complex algorithm to define the keys, synth style and drum loops that is appropriate for the content.
First it scans the content for and filters the characters to just the musical scale (A to G). Then analyzes the remaining characters to fine the most commonly used notes (I’m not sure what that means, but it sounds good.) If it is an even number the page is translated into the major pentatonic scale of that particular note, and minor for odd numbers.
Second defines the synthesizer based on the total number of characters on the webpage. There are 10 synthesizer effects and each is chosen via percentage of content. Then picks one from the 10 different drum loops installed and determined based on the ratio of page characters versus the number of characters that are actual musical notes.
I don’t really like the sound that this website produces, but I kind of like the idea ^_^. [via Downloadsquad and dlkw]
